What’s new this year?
Mixed is Back! After discussion with club members it was clear that many desired to see the Mixed League return. This season we are planning to reopen the mixed league. It will run at the same time as but will be independent from the Teacher’s league.
Social League. Over the past few seasons feedback has been that potential curlers love the Learn to Curls but are looking for an opportunity to spend more time on the ice before committing to a full year league. The purpose of the social league is to encourage new curlers to join the membership while giving existing members an opportunity to enjoy a more casual curling experience. Coach Training
Last season we heard loud and clear from club members that they felt unprepared to offer volunteer support for our Junior Curlers. To help support our Junior Programs and Learn to Curl programs we will be offering a coach training mid to late October. This will be a 2 day course which will occur on a Saturday and Sunday.
If this is of interest to you please reach out to Tiffany at tmsbutler8@gmail.com. The cost of this training will be covered by Fort McMurray Oilsands Curling Club with funds raised during the U21 Junior Curling Championship!
Volunteer Refund or Credit
If you completed your required Volunteer hours credits will be processed and added to your curling IO account by Mid-August. If you are not returning to the club or you have moved please reach out for your refund cheque to be processed. Stay tuned for our updated volunteer policy to better outline and define what our volunteer expectations are.
